Sorry for my lack of entries...and my lack of pictures in this entry. The batteries in my camera are dead and I keep forgetting to charge them. Today was a busy day. I got up early and went with my dad and my brother to move my bro into his dorm at Thomas College. It went pretty smoothly and I think he'll have fun. Especially since he's rooming with his best friend since elementary school, JT. To see some pictures from the excursion check out my dad's blog.
After that Dad and I headed up to my neck o' tha woods (umaine) and I bought my books. $380 of my hard earned cash from watching bratty children all summer went down the toilent in about 5 minutes. HIGHWAY ROBBERY I TELL YOU. I hadn't been on campus since May though so it was nice to be back. That place is always a hustle bustle. It makes me smile. It made me excited to go back. Though I am very happy to still have a little over a week to go.
After that we came back home and then I headed to Panera to have a late lunch with one of my best friend's from high school, Meaghan. For those family members reading, she is Betty Linscott's granddaughter. I hadn't seen Meg all summer (busy schedules) and she head's back to Stonehill on Sunday so we made it a must that we would get together and catch up. It was wondeeful to see her!! :)
So, that was my day. Eventful for sure!
On another note...rehearsals are going really well. I am very excited for a fabulous show. Which I hope most of you will be attending!!! Tomorrow I have rehearsal from 10-4:30!!! BUT it should be fun because our regular piano player, Gerry, won't be there so none other than Chris Ganza will be filling in!! YAY! :)
Alright, gotta run. I promise to be better with blogging once school starts. Pinky swear!
Later, gators!

How do you like your eggs?

So, this morning I woke up around 10:30ish and I thought to myself "Chris should be getting done playing at church, I should invite him to my house to make him breakfast." So, that is what I did. That first picture is of me pretending to be making eggs. We took it after they were made...and um...let's be honest, I made Kori make the eggs. :) I made a MEAN cinnamon toast though! :) That second picture is Chris enjoying the breakfast and looking all handsome in his organist clothes. Well, we're going to hang out for awhile and then I've got rehearsal. So, I'll write more soon. Later, gators!

The world's gonna wake up and see Baltimore and me...
Sunday night I had the pleasure of seeing the new Hairspray movie. I loved it! I didn't know the show that well, I only knew a couple of songs and I loved it. A lot of people who have seen the movie and have also seen the Broadway show think the movie is only mediocre. BUT because I have never seen it done on stage I thought it was great! The plot of the show is great also. I just thought it was about a bigger girl who couldn't get the part she wanted, but it's a lot more than just that. It's all about acceptance of EVERYONE. Big, small, black, white, purple, doesn't matter. So, I really liked that aspect.I am quite certain that Chris and I are going to go see the show at the MSMT in a week or so. So, I'll be able to judge between the stage and the movie. I guarantee I'll like the stage better, but nevertheless I really really like the movie.
So, if you like musicals (or even if you don't. my brother's girlfriend, who doesn't like musicals or anything, loved it) GO SEE IT. It's fabulous.

It is so FREAKING hot...
The sun is mean. This heat is not fun. ESPECIALLY when you take into account that I work OUTSIDE with kids. Yeah...today was a scorcher, to say the least. Not to mention I have a horrible cold. Summer colds are such downers.
I am going to go to bed before too long (to try to sleep away this cold) but I just wanted to let everyone know. I love summer, but not when it's this hot.
Later, gators.

You know it's 2007 when...

Our presidential candidates are answering questions posted on YOUTUBE in a debate on CNN. I love it. Times are changing, indeed. I wonder what George Washington would think of all of it. Interesting. The democratic YouTube debate was on last night and I guess the Republican one will be on soon. The questions were real and raw and interesting. They ranged from "can we get married?" (a lesbian couple) to "are the rest of ya'll jealous that Obama, Edwards, and Clinton get all the attention?" (a couple of hick guys from Tennesse). I thought most of the candidates did very well. Of course, I am partial to Obama, but everyone held their own. Except I think Mike Gravel is a little mad at the world quite frankly. Maybe because he's 77 years old. He's definitely got some of that curmudgeonly old man-ness in him. He took every opportunity he could to put down his competitors. A little childish if you ask me. Anyways, I just thought it was interesting and shows how much technology is changing our world. I'm looking forward to the Republican ones on September 17th. I might submit a video and ask something like "Why are you all so freaking wrong in everything you believe?" :-p Just teasing! :) If you missed the debate last night check out the recap here: Click!
Alright, I need a shower. Later, gators!!!

Good Ole Old Hallowell Day...

Last night Chris and I went to the Old Hallowell Day festivites. It was really fun! That first shot (which I am quite proud of) is of the fireworks, the second shot is of the ever-so-charming hick crowd that Old Hallowell Day attracts, and the third is of Chris and me waiting for the fireworks to begin. It was a very fun evening. We started the evening off by going out to dinner at Cafe de Bangkok, and if you haven't been there I suggest you go. Excellent Thai food! I had the yellow curry, which I always get, and it was, as usual, scrumptious. I saw my brother's girlfriend Heather, her sister, Ashley and a couple of my bro's guy friends, Matt and Brian there too. Whaatta coincidence! My brother was at basketball camp all weekend and was super bummed that he had to miss Old Hallowell Day. So anyway, after dinner we had some time to kill so we went to the bank and then stopped at Chris' new organ gig for the summer, Penny Memorial Baptist Church. He wanted to show me the organ and I needed to pee, so it worked out well. :-P The church is very pretty and the organ, from what I can tell (I'm no organ genius), is really nice. So that was fun. After that we headed back to Hallowell and got some fried dough at the fried dough stand (yum! yum! yum!). Then we walked around for awhile and I saw lots of people from high school and whatnot and then the fireworks began. They were really good! Way better than the 4th of July ones I saw this year. Alright, well I am going with my mom to Waterville in a bit to pick up my brother from basketball camp and then I'm going to rehearsal later this evening. So, I will write more soon!!! Later, gators!!!!Tuesday, July 17, 2007
Dance kicks my ass...
My knees, ladies and gentlemen. Sunday I had a 4 hour dance rehearsal. Wait, let me take that back. Sunday I had an hour of a full body work-out and then a dance rehearsal for 3 hours. Yesterday I also had a 3 hour dance rehearsal. That totals 7 hours. This is what my knees look like because of it. There's a lot of dropping to the ground on our knees in the choreography and the result is as such. Plus, for anyone that knows me..."dancer" is probably not the first word that comes to mind when my name is thrown around. Actor?...maybe? Singer?...sure. Dancer?.......not so much. I am learning a lot though and it's good for me so I am not complaining. I love every minute of rehearsing for musicals so banging up my knees (and being so sore that walking is a chore) is a small price to pay for how great it will all look in the end.On another note, we set up the 100 ft slip&slide at work today. Truth be told it's not a slip&slide at all. It's a 100 ft long, 20 ft wide tarp that my boss bought from Home Depot, but it works better than any dinky little slip&slide, that's for sure. I went down it today. It was a real good time and the kids had a blast.
Hmm...what else is new? Not a whole bunch. I pretty much eat, sleep, work, and go to rehearsal. And try to find time in between all that to see Chris and hang with friends. A busy life I lead, indeed.
Oooh, I know. I've been driving a lot more lately!!! Most people know I loathe driving. I avoid it all costs, but I've been driving lately and quite frankly it hasn't been bad! Although it's only been on sunny days. No night time and no weird weather conditions, but hey, it's a start.
Okay, el boyfriendo is going to be here soon. So off I must go.
Later, gators!
