Happy Mother's Day!!!!...yesterday

I colored those pictures for my mom for Mother's Day. Beauty & The Beast is her favorite Disney movie so she liked them. I like coloring, I think it's relaxing. Even though it's an activity deemed for 6-year-olds.

Summer has been pretty low-key so far. I had an interview today for the Summer Rec program. I think it went pretty well. I should find out whether I got the job either tomorrow or Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I think it'd be such a fun job. Perfect hours too. Monday through Friday 8am-1pm. Perfect! :) So, hopefully that works out.
So I think I have it figured out that I will only have to graduate a semester late instead of an entire year late. And if I have it figured out correctly...then that final semester would be spent student teaching, anyway.

On another note, I got Seymoure (my fish) a new tank the other day. His original one broke a few months back so he'd been residing in a tupperware container for a few months. I felt bad so I got him a bigger tank this time. He seems to be enjoying himself. Whatta cutie. Hm, what else is new? Not a whole lot. I'm waiting to get Aladdin for Super Nintendo. I ordered it for a dollar off E-Bay. Gotta love E-Bay. :) Alright, gotta run. Later, gators!!!

I am officially a Music Education student!

Hello! Yes, that's right. I am officially a music education major! How fabulous is that? :) My audition went well yesterday. I messed up some words because I was nervous, but no big deal. The people judging me were all really, really nice and I felt very comfortable auditioning in front of them. After I auditioned they pretty much told me I was in, but to call today just to make sure. So, I did. And sure enough, I passed! I then got all my classes changed to fit the major. I am very, very excited. It's going to be a very full load next year, but it's worth it. I think I finally found something I think I will be good at and will also really enjoy doing. So, yay for me.
Yesterday was also move-out day. It was sweltering hot and my dad kept complaining about how he "is too old to do this" but other than that it went pretty smoothly. Then we stopped at Lissus Pizza in Orono to get sandwiches. Lissus makes fabbbbulous food. Quite frankly they are way better than Pat's, in my opinion. Well, anywho...I am going to go find something to do...it's SUMMMMMMMER! 8-)

vittoria, vittoria...

Well, today's the day! My audition is in a couple hours. I am pretty nervous. Mostly because I have a horrible sore throat, but as of now my singing voice is still okay. Knock on wood. I've been sucking on Hall's lemon & honey cough drops like they are candy and snuffing nasal spray like an addict. So, hopefully it'll all be good. After my audition I am homeward bound. Exciting! I can't believe my first year of college is over. It has flown by. I am very excited about summer, though. I have had a couple of really good interviews for summer jobs, so I am hoping one of those works out. Alright, gotta run. More later.

1 final down...2 more to go+an audition...

So, my first final of the week is out of the way. I took my psychology exam at 8 this morning. It went pretty well. The way that my professor did it was that we took our 4th regular exam this morning and then if we wanted to we could take the optional final exam right after. That way we have 5 exams and the lowest one can be dropped. I decided to take both the 4th exam and the final. And they went pretty well, I think. After that I went to the union and ate an onion bagel. I hadn't had an onion bagel in years. I'm all about poppy bagels these days, but when I was younger I used to LOOOOVE onion bagels. So, it was a pretty yummy breakfast. Then I went to meet with Laura, the brilliant accompanist who is playing for my music ed audition on Thursday. The songs sound pretty good. There were a few minor glitches that we fixed. I feel pretty confidant in it. Hopefully it goes well. Tomorrow at 3 I have a phone interview for a possible summer job and then I have my public speaking final, which I am not too too worried about. I also have to finish my extra credit geology project either today or tomorrow. I started it yesterday and I am almost finished. Wednesday I have an 8am geology final and then I am done for the day. Thursday, I am meeting with Laura again, and then I have my audition at 3:10PM!!! Wooot! I really hope it goes well. After my audition, I am heading home for SUMMER!! Hard to believe!! Alright, gotta run!

My celebrity look-alikes...hmmm....

So, I found this MyHeritage.com that will do celebrity look-alikes. You just upload a photo of yourself and then it finds matches. I don't know why I got so many Asian people. I am not Asian. Maybe I look more Asian than I think, or something. Not to mention I only know who 4 of those people are. I'll take looking like Jennifer Garner and Kristen Bell. Shannon Doherty is scary, and Hilary Duff used to be pretty before she became a skeleton. I guess it's better than my last attempt. I uploaded another photo earlier and I got some guy and Kathy Bates. WONDERFUL. I look like a manly Kathy Bates. As if Kathy Bates can get any manlier herself. Oy vey. So, yeah, I'll take looking like a bunch of Asian people I don't know and a few ditzy blonde girls. Yup, I'll take it. :)

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight...

Though it's kind of hard to see, those are people walking down the street outside of my dorm playing instruments yesterday....at 9am. Yes, the Maine Day (LOUD) parade. You might be asking "how did you wake up so fast to get pictures?!" Well, I was only half sleeping. I had been awoken at 8am by my RA running down the hall with a kazoo and a drum screaming "IT'S MAINE DAY, WAKE UP!" So when I started hearing the blare of the fire trucks and the band, I just finally gave up on sleeping and got up and took some pictures. Maine Day was pretty fun! I lounged for a bit and then Sara and I went with a couple other girls over to the BBQ. It was pretty yummy. Then I took pictures of Sara and some of her friends doing this sorority "Turtle Tug" event. It was Tug-O-War in green jello. Rather amusing. Check these out:
It was pretty entertaining. After that I came back to the dorm and chilled for awhile. Sara and I then went to Bangor to run a few errands. Then my friend Arielle and I went to Broadway Night here on campus. It was done by the THE 480 class. It was cute.
Today has been pretty run o' the mill. I had my last speech and spanish classes. Thank goodness. I realized today just how much I have to do before now and a week from now. So, I made a detailed list of what I need to do day by day. So, I have stopped stressing a little.
Well, the 2 hour episode of Grey's is on, so gotta get to it.
Later, gators!

Maine Day=No Classes For Me Day!

Tomorrow is Maine Day, which means I have NO CLASSES. I think it's a day where you do community service and stuff, but I don't really know that much about it. All I know is that there's a barbecue and that I get to sleep in, both of which seem lovely.
Nothing too exciting has happened this week thus far. I can't believe summer starts for me NEXT WEEK!!!!! My first year in college has flown by.
Next week I have my psych final Monday, my speech final Tuesday, my geology final Wednesday, and then Thursday I am auditioning for the music ed program. Wooot! Wish me luck.
Alright, gotta go. More later.
Later, gators.
